From Sight to Blindness: When Seeing Isn't Believing
Last week, we heard the powerful story of a man born blind who encountered Jesus and came away forever changed. His healing was more than physical—it was a picture of how faith and obedience can open our eyes to the truth of who God is.
This week, we continue the story in John 9, as the focus shifts to those who claimed they could see—yet ended up blind to the work of God right in front of them. As we explore the growing tension between the healed man and the religious leaders, we’ll be confronted with a sobering truth: spiritual pride can keep us from seeing Jesus clearly.
Through this passage, we’re invited to examine our hearts. Are we still open to Jesus? Still humble enough to be led, challenged, and changed by Him? Or have we become so certain in our own understanding that we no longer see what God is doing?
This is a message about remaining open. Remaining teachable. And allowing Jesus to keep shaping us long after we've first believed.
