Not every idea that sounds spiritual is rooted in the truth God has revealed in Jesus. Throughout the church’s history, well-intended practices, perspectives, and experiences have sometimes shaped how people think about God in ways that don’t fully reflect who He is. That’s why, in this series, we’re examining certain beliefs and practices—not to be confrontational or to question the core truths of our faith, but to ask a simple question: Do these ideas align with the truth God has revealed in Christ?
This week, we apply that question to the topic of worship. In many Christian contexts, worship has become closely associated with music, gatherings, and emotional expression. But what does Jesus actually reveal about worship? Looking at Scripture—from the Old Testament to Jesus’ words in John 4 and Paul’s teaching in Romans 12—we explore how true worship is not defined by place or ritual, but by a life transformed by the Spirit and lived in obedience to Christ.
