Most people spend a great deal of time and energy investing in things they believe will bring security, happiness, or significance. We invest in careers, possessions, experiences, achievements, and relationships, hoping they will provide lasting fulfillment.
But Jesus challenges us to think carefully about where we are investing our lives. In the Sermon on the Mount, he contrasts treasures that are temporary and vulnerable with treasures that endure. More than a discussion about money, this teaching exposes the deeper reality that our investments reveal our priorities, shape our hearts, and ultimately reflect whom we trust.
This message explores Jesus' invitation to invest in what truly lasts. It reminds us that while earthly treasures can be lost, stolen, or destroyed, the treasures of God's kingdom are secure and eternal.
